Dorma 's new range of TS Door Closers

Doma has created a new range of door closures that are ideal for all commercial buildings including hospitals and schools, that allow all users including children, the elderly and disabled have access to the premises.

DORMA have developed a range of door closers, the TS 92 and TS 93, which enable all internal doors to be opened with ease while still maintaining the required levels of fire protection.  That’s because these cam-action closers meet, and are fully compliant with, the requirements of ADM and BS8300, and have been designed for use with slide arms and channels, rather than exclusively with scissor arms.

To meet all regulations and requirements, both the TS 92 and TS 93 have been tested to EN1154 and certified to ISO 9001, so have been rigorously tested for reliability and durability, and are therefore perfectly suited for use with fire doors.

There are many advantage of a TS 92 or TS 93 door closures ,including the adjustment speed In addition, both are certified and approved to CF119 for use on fire doors – up to 2 hours on timber doors and 4 hours on metal doors.

Both door closers have a variety of benefits, whether they’re used in the plans of architects, when they’re fitted by specifiers, or when they’re used by occupants of a building, and both have adjustable closing speeds and power settings for convenience and ease of use.  In addition, both the TS 92 and the TS 93 are certified and approved to CF119 for use on fire doors – up to 2 hours on timber doors and 4 hours on metal doors.
They also have variable opening angles, depending on the type of fixing used, so it’s possible to adapt them to the level of use they’ll receive, the environment they’ll be used in and the range of users they’ll have.
As these products are important for the safety and protection of the occupants of a building in the event of a fire, it’s vital that they’re fitted by professionals so that they’re reliable and functional at all times.

Quality Garage Doors from Woodrite

Since 2010 Woodrite have become leading manufacturers and renowned for their beautifully crafted timber garage doors. They have recently introduced two new ranges, the Balmoral and Warwick.

Although the company itself is relatively new, the owner has over 30 years in the industry and his dedication to quality and attention to detail is evident in the beautifully crafted garage doors that his company produces.

The new Balmoral and Warwick ranges are no exception. Both these ranges are part of the outstanding Coach House Collection and showcase the exceptional joinery skills of the Woodrite team.

The Balmoral range is handcrafted from quality Cedar, to give an enduring appeal in 24 designs, including up and over doors, traditional side hinged doors, and matching personnel doors. The Warwick range offers both panel-built and solid-built door options in Idigbo. The range again includes up and over, side hinged and personnel doors. All of the Warwick range doors are fully finished as standard in a choice of 3 oak finishes with matching timber frames also available.

These standard or made to measure sized doors are now available from Doorfit and we offer a comprehensive installation service, that complements the exquisite craftsmanship, and the resulting strength and integrity of the doors with superior installation services to prolong the life, function and appearance.

The solid construction with wide, deep timber rails eliminates the need for steel sub frames, for a more traditionally neat finish.

The solid panels are made on the specialist automated router, which, despite being a huge, heavy piece of machinery, is capable of producing incredibly detailed, fine work and clean profiles. Not only that, but Woodrite ensure the longevity of all their doors by individually dipping each panel in preservative, to ensure it effectively penetrates right to the edges and provides complete protection.

If you require more information regarding Woodrite Garage doors our experienced staff will be more than happy to advise you as to which garage door will best suit your needs and budget.

Garage Doors - New CE Legislations

From July 2013 the CE marking for metal and timber garage door products is due to change. From next year the Construction Products Directive (CPD) is set to be replaced by the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), and under this regulation, all products will be legally required to be CE marked.

In the future it will be mandatory for all manufacturers and installers to CE mark.  This is to make sure that all companies are compliant by making sure all products meet industry standards and it is a viable defence against legal claims should accidents occur.

The DHF have produced a best practice guide to help members understand the new legislation and what is required by them when it comes to providing and installing CE marked products.

As members of the DHF, Doorfit are committed to supplying and installing all products in line with the high standards and legislation set out by the CPD, and, when the time comes, the CPR.  That way, you can be confident that when you come to Doorfit for your automatic garage door, you know you’re dealing with a professional company whose products and installation services fully comply with the high standards and legislation outlined by the CPD.

For more information, or to discuss your garage door requirements, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

New Kitemark Aims To Prevent Lock Bumping

What is lock bumping? It is a phrase that is recognised throughout the locksmith industry and a term that is applied when a lock is broken beyond repair. This is due to the insertion of a specially designed key, which, when pressure is applied, can destroy the lock mechanism and leave premises vulnerable to attack.  It is a technique known to the police, security professionals and insurers.

Don’t worry though there are many products now available on the market that have been specifically designed to stay one step ahead of this process, and which will maintain their integrity and resist any attempt to bump or snap the lock cylinder.

Any products supplied and installed must now adhere to the new Kitemark TS 007 standard for these products as set by the Door and hardware Federation (DHF), the Glass and Glazing Federation with support from Secured by Design. This new Kitemark is to give customers peace of mind.

Those products displaying the new TS 007 standard will be at a reduced risk of lock bumping and cylinder snapping, and it has, according to the chairman of the DHF, the highest level of consumer recognition.

Each product, whether it’s a lock or other door security items, is rated between one and three stars, with three stars being the most secure.  As a result, there are various ways to meet this standard, whether it’s a combination of a one star and a two star rated product to achieve the desired three star rating, or whether it’s a single product that’s rated to three stars on its own.

Doorfit are members of the Master Locksmith Association, therefore any products must display the relevant Kitemark. It means that our products are less likely to become vulnerable to cylinder snapping and lock bumping.  We’ll be happy to discuss your requirements and advise which products will be most suitable, and you can rely on our expert team to ensure that your locks are secure, safe and up to the required industry standard.

So don’t leave your property an easy target for thieves – get in touch with us today and secure your locks using the very latest in locksmith technology.
